Partnering with social enterprises for better business

Value chains

We know that there are many social enterprises who are looking and are ready to partner with corporates. The research IKEA Social Entrepreneurship produced with our partner Acumen proved this, survey 150 social enterprises around the world. It provides insights and recommendations on how businesses can use their procurement spending to source from social enterprises and advance their environmental and social commitments.

Doing business with social enterprises is key a part of creating a positive social impact at IKEA. It provides sustainable livelihoods opportunities to those who need it the most and is a chance to offer our customers unique handmade products. We are committed to building and expanding our business relations in this area and have added new social business partners such as denim manufacturer Saitex in Vietnam, and food partners, such as Krakakoa in Indonesia. Integrating social entrepreneurs’ products and services into corporate value chains opens the door to opportunities for both parties such as greater volumes, job creation and improving the livelihoods for marginalized groups and women from vulnerable communities.
