Lastiana Yuliandari Utami, Director of Aliet Green, knew that innovative solutions were needed to secure a resilient future while improving farming practices and the livelihoods of smallholder farmers across Indonesia. Aliet Green is driven by a vision to be a leading agricultural producer that transforms the lives of small-holder farmers. They pursue this mission in three ways: collaborating with farmers, research institutes, and communities to build sustainable food systems, promoting fair labour, and respecting nature and local habitats.
Inspired by traditional agroforestry, the enterprise has developed a solution based on regenerative organic farming. Aliet Green has become a pioneer in organic coconut sugar from regenerative crops, a leading producer of fair-trade ingredients, and a champion of traditional rain-fed agroforestry methods. By using IIoT technology, Aliet Green continues to advance their regenerative practices. They also work to strengthen food security, emergency response, disaster risk reduction, livelihood recovery, and community development.
Over the past 16 years, they’ve planted over 3,000 dwarf coconut seedlings and more than 3,000 agroforestry crops such as vanilla and mangosteen. They work with around 1,500 small family farms, contributing to more stable incomes and sustainable livelihoods in farming communities.
