The Lacandon Jungle in Chiapas is full of life. It’s one of Mexico’s most important tropical forests, home to many plants and animals, and a key source of fresh water. However, as more land is cleared for farming and crops like African palm, the forest is getting smaller.

When forests are cleared, people lose long-term ways to earn a living, and nature loses important wildlife habitats and the protection forests provide for water and climate. Many farming families need steady, fair incomes. Without reliable markets, it is hard to make a living while keeping the forest healthy.
Vero Amore partners with farming cooperatives and small farmers who grow cacao and açaí in ways that protect the forest. These crops become simple, plant-based foods and drinks that fit into everyday life, making it easier for people in cities to choose options that are good for themselves and the planet. By finding new markets, Vero Amore helps bring more stable income to the communities that grow these crops.
The real change starts with the people who grow cacao and açaí. By working with cooperatives and finding new markets, Vero Amore helps rural families earn a steadier income in places where jobs are often limited. In 2025, Vero Amore directly supported 3,200 people and helped protect 11,000 hectares of forest.
Vero Amore has a clear goal: to make it easier for everyone to choose food that is good for them and the planet, while also making sure the people who grow the ingredients benefit.
