Today, Thursday February 27, IKEA releases its Sustainability Report FY19. The report describes how the IKEA business is tackling global challenges such as climate change, unsustainable consumption and inequalities.
The new entity IKEA Social Entrepreneurship is an important part of this journey, contributing to a fair and equal society that benefits the many.
Highlights of the report include the launch of IKEA Social Entrepreneurship’s partnership with Ashoka - our first co-created social enterprise programme that is not directly linked to the IKEA business, supporting even more people around the world.
Last year, we also offered social entrepreneurs’ products in all IKEA markets, plus time-limited collections in 27 countries. As a result 20,000 people had jobs and incomes with our social entrepreneur partners.
We are proud to be a part of this exciting journey to inspire and enable more people to live healthier and more sustainable lives, while at the same time, create a positive impact for people, society and planet.
