Social enterprises driving global change on World Food Day

Every year on 16 October, World Food Day highlights important topics such as food waste, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and the challenges faced by fishing communities — all in an effort to combat climate change. This year's theme is "Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”. It's the perfect opportunity for us to shine a spotlight on the incredible efforts of social entrepreneurs, who are making everyday life better for so many people and how they're creating a more sustainable and inclusive world.

Food connects us all. Yet across the world, millions of people who grow, produce and distribute food face barriers to fair livelihoods, market access and opportunity.

Dela VI brings together 12 social enterprises working to make food and agriculture more inclusive, resilient and sustainable. From supporting smallholder farmers and strengthening local food systems to creating new economic opportunities in rural communities, these entrepreneurs are developing solutions that benefit both people and planet.

Over the course of the programme, participants will access tailored support, peer learning and connections to global networks to help strengthen their organisations and grow their impact.

We're excited to continue our Dela journey together with Ashoka.

Supports rural families in the Philippines to grow food, earn additional income, and build more resilient communities through community-led agriculture.
