INTRARE facilitates the integration of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Mexico’s capital.

For years, Mexico was a “Transit Country” in the migration route to the north. Every year, 500k people cross the southern border of Mexico fleeing violence and looking for better opportunities, and just in 2019, 80.000 asylum applications were received by International Organizations and the Mexican government.

Mexico City alone sees migrants arriving daily from Central America. Many are fleeing from Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua looking for work opportunities, putting pressure on the city's already stretched resources.  INTRARE facilitates the integration of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Mexico’s capital city.

Before collaborating with INTRARE, people migrating couldn’t access safe and fair job opportunities and suffered discrimination by employers or other members of society. INTRARE support their integration through mentoring, providing them a supportive community, and ensuring their inclusion in the job market. Since 2018, they have:

  • Employed more than 70 migrants, 57 of which were helped in 2020.
  • Created awareness among +40 institutions and groups of citizens through their inclusivity workshops.
  • Collaborated with big International Organizations such as GIZ, OXFAM, UNHCR, IOM, and Hispanics in Philanthropy to achieve their goals.

INTRARE also advises companies in Mexico on inclusive recruitment and offers candidates’ sourcing; turning workplaces into safe spaces of inclusion.
