Making manufactured housing a practical, sustainable solution in the US
Next Step's vision is to make manufactured housing a practical, sustainable solution to the housing affordability crisis facing many Americans.
Two million (low-income) American families live in mobile homes that are below the standard environmental & structure requirements for factory-built housing.
Stacey is increasing access to affordable housing by creating a value chain that connects manufactured housing companies to providers of low-income housing. In this scalable model, manufacturers are serving a new market while non-profit housing organizations are finding market-based solutions to affordable housing.
Recently, Stacey was interviewed on participating in the second edition of the Dela programme. You can find the full interview here.
Aligned with a few of our IKEA values, I find it valuable to give back and support social entrepreneurs. We commit to “give and take responsibility”, “renew and improve”, “lead by example”, and “care for people and the planet”. I cannot think of a better way to live up to these values than to devote some of my time to support social entrepreneurs as they support the many people.
