Ubud Raw Chocolate & Cacao, based in Bali, Indonesia, creates healthy chocolate from unroasted, fermented Indonesian cacao beans and coconut, with no additives or preservatives. Their mission is to produce chocolate that is not only delicious and nutritious but also empowers local farmers by providing fair and consistent income through direct partnerships and above-market pricing. Fully aware of the plastic waste that may result from their production, they are committed to giving back to the planet by removing more plastic from the environment than they contribute to it.
Over 10 years, Ubud Raw Chocolate & Cacao has successfully expanded their impact by collaborating with local farmers across various regions in Indonesia, including Bali, South Sumatra, East Kalimantan, and Papua. In their commitment to reducing plastic waste, they've partnered with Eco Bali, a waste management company, and joined the Eco-Brick Catalyst Programme to champion responsible disposal and plastic reduction in Bali. Over the last three years, they've achieved a recycling-to-output ratio of 144%.
Always striving to create a positive impact, they now aim to increase their social impact in three key areas: creating more jobs and opportunities for local communities, expanding their eco-friendly initiatives to further reduce plastic waste, and strengthening support for local farmers by ensuring fair and stable prices through long-term partnerships.
