Our partnership with Acumen worked to strengthen the capacity of 34 social entrepreneurs in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Rwanda), to scale their businesses in order for them to increase the assistance for people who need it the most.

Starting in 2020, Acumen and IKEA Social Entrepreneurship teamed up to develop a scalable social enterprise model in East Africa. During the program, social enterprises learned the essentials of building a business model that can achieve both social impact and profitability.
