Youth volunteers committed to promoting the conservation of primary life sources in the community of San Miguel Suchixtepec.
Yu Naban "Tierra Viva" is a group of 12 youth volunteers committed to promoting the conservation of the three primary life sources in the community of San Miguel Suchixtepec: water, soil and forests. Yu Naban is achieving this through workshops to raise awareness, community gardens and water quality monitoring in rivers and springs located in the upper Copalita River Basin.

The group's vision for the future, as a community conservation enterprise (CCE), is to improve their capacity and generate strategies to implement productive projects, like orchard cultivation. This would give them a source of income to further promote environmental conservation.
I am from the community of San Miguel Suchixtepec. I joined the group at the age of 13 because I like engaging in activities to learn more about the environment and to show others how important it is to take care of it. We need training, workshops and other ways to support our members in these activities. Because of lack of resources, they often have to leave the group and go on to other things". - Nicolás Hernández Antonio."
