The number of pepper farmers on the Bangka Belitung Islands is declining as they face multifaceted challenges such as skills and talent shortages, the complexities of managing the supply chain and the pressing need to combat deforestation in former mining areas.  

Pepper Secret is a social enterprise dedicated to preserving Indonesia's agricultural heritage while fostering innovation in the pepper world through naturally handcrafted bath and home care products. The company works directly with local farmers in the Bangka Belitung Islands, striving to improve their income and quality of life.

With a focus on reforestation, particularly in former mining areas, Pepper Secret seeks to create systemic change by positively impacting local communities, the environment, and the agricultural industry. By incorporating the BoP community as employees and supply stakeholders, the company addresses income challenges, provides stable jobs with fair wages, and fosters environmental stewardship through organic and sustainable farming methods. 

With impactful collaborations with two brands and the empowerment of over 30 farmers to date, Pepper Secret contributes to preserving Indonesia's agricultural heritage and fostering economic growth in Bangka Belitung.
